Build Out Line Rules In Effect:

  • When the Goalkeeper has the ball, either during the play or from a goal kick, the opposing team must retreat behind the build out line.

  • Goalkeeper can play the ball right away or once the opposing team is behind the build out line. Goalkeeper can pass or throw/roll the ball to a teammate but they can not punt or drop kick the ball.

  • The opposing team must stay behind the build out line until the ball is touched again, then play resumes as normal.

  • If the opposition crosses the build out line prematurely, there will be a restart from the goalkeeper’s hands or a goal kick.

Note: Our interpretation is clearly stated here and is how referees will attempt to call the games with no exceptions. Refs calls are final.  As stated above, we have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for behavior towards referees.
